Hiunchuli, considered one of the difficult trekking peaks for climbing, lies in the Annapurna range and forms the massive south facing wall with Annapurna South. Despite the relative ease to the access of the mountain by following popular Annapurna sanctuary trekking, the mountain seems to be ignored by climbers which may be due to being prone to avalanche and exposed to rock falling. We follow the Annapurna sanctuary trekking trail up to Hinko and climb a very steep hill side to a grassy meadows to establish the base camp to climb the peak from the normal route, South - East face. Normally three camps are set up for the approach to the summit. The other route is North - West Face for which the base camp is set up at Annapurna South base camp near the Annapurna base camp lodges.
